When Is Splitting a PDF Useful?
Extracting a single page: If you only need one page from a large document — such as a certificate, contract page, or form — splitting lets you extract it cleanly.
Separating a combined scan: When multiple documents were scanned into one PDF, splitting them lets you reorganise the pages properly.
Re-merging in a different order: Split your document into pages, discard the ones you don't need, and use the Merge PDF tool to recombine them in a new order.
Sharing specific sections: Share only the relevant pages of a report or contract without exposing the entire document.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does splitting change the content of my pages?
No. Each extracted page is identical to the original. Text, images, and formatting are fully preserved.
Can I extract only specific pages, not all of them?
The tool splits every page. After splitting, simply download the pages you need. To permanently remove unwanted pages instead, use the Delete Pages tool.
What happens to the original file after splitting?
Your original file and all extracted pages are automatically deleted from our server within a few minutes of processing.
Can I split a large PDF?
Files up to 10 MB can be uploaded. For larger documents, try compressing the PDF first to bring it within the size limit.
Can I recombine the pages after splitting?
Yes. After downloading individual pages, use our Merge PDF tool to combine them in any order you like.
